At an awards dinner hosted by broadcaster Adrian Chiles and attended by around 400 property professionals, LSH was named Industrial/Logistics Consultancy of the Year. The award recognised LSH’s performance in transacting approximately 150 deals involving 1.5m sq ft of property during 2018 – more than any other agency in the region.

Elise Evans, associate director at LSH, said: “We’re thrilled to win. We work really closely as a team and have a very collaborative approach. It’s not about individuals – it’s about all of us putting our skill sets together, delivering something special for our clients and providing the best service we can.”

Meanwhile, LSH was honoured in the Property Deal of the Year category for the second year running, this time for its role in negotiating the £29.5m sale of Southampton’s Marchwood Power Station. LSH acted on behalf of property company Oceanic Estates to secure the freehold sale of the 15-acre-site to Marchwood Power and SSE.

Jerry Vigus, Director – Capital Markets at LSH, said: “This was an unusual and fairly complex deal, which as a team we have been working on for some time. A number of large UK Institutions have been tracking this opportunity before terms were agreed at circa £29.5m. The Power Station was developed at a cost of £350m and is a clean source of energy with a long-term future – we’re told this is the most efficient gas-powered station in the UK. We also negotiated a rent review that uplifted the deal to get the best value for our client.”

LSH also celebrated the award of Development of the Year to Brockhurst Gate Retail Park, which brought big-name retailers including M&S Foodhall, Lidl, Jollyes Pet Store and Home Bargains to Gosport along with more than 300 jobs. LSH secured finance for the development and its south coast retail team, led by John Butt, acted as letting agents to secure the tenants and support the owner, Millngate, with long-term management and strategic advice.

The South Coast Property Awards, held at the Hilton at the Ageas Bowl Southampton, is the region’s biggest property event, honouring the cream of the crop of the region’s property sector with 60 finalists across 15 awards categories.

Graham Holland, head of LSH’s South Coast office, said: “This was a great opportunity to look back on a very successful 12 months for the LSH teams in industrial, office, retail and investment schemes. This success is a result of our focus on client service and the outstanding local knowledge of our transactional teams.”

Lambert Smith Hampton, which has offices in Fareham and Southampton, is a multi-award-winning commercial property specialist and has the largest transactional team in the Solent region, with 13 specialists working in the industrial property, office space, retail, leisure and investment markets.
