A three-year extension to our estates management contract with Northern Rail has been secured, through the train operating company’s franchise agreement extension.
Multi disciplinary deal
The deal, which takes the partnership through to 2013, builds on the increasingly strong relationship between the two firms. It is a clear indicator of our role in supporting Northern Rail’s commitment to enhance the experience for customers at their stations.
Under the terms of the contract, we will provide a wide-range of services, including lettings, acquisitions and disposals, rent reviews, lease renewals, financial management and accounting. We will also provide design, procurement and project management of station redevelopments and commercial investment schemes.
Managing property portfolio of 462 stations
The work applies to Northern Rail’s entire property portfolio, which encompasses 462 stations across the North of England, spanning the Midlands up to the Scottish Border. The overall portfolio covers stations of all sizes, from Manchester Victoria with 20,000 passengers each day, to small rural halts.
