Ben Rayner, Associate Director in our Planning, Development and Regeneration team in Birmingham, has been shortlisted for the West Midlands Young Planner of the Year Awards.

The RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute) West Midlands Awards for Planning Excellence are a top industry accolade. They celebrate outstanding projects that demonstrate the power of planning, taking into consideration schemes of all sizes in all areas of the region.

"Through this nomination, Ben has been singled out for his accomplishments as a town planner and for being a passionate advocate for his profession. He has become a tremendous role model, both within LSH and beyond, keen to share his diverse experience with young planners.

Since joining LSH in December 2018, Ben has played a key role in raising our profile as a town planning practice, generating significant new work and successfully delivering a wide range of projects. As an advocate of sustainable urban living, he has been involved in bringing forward some of the largest regeneration schemes in Birmingham. He is also a champion for advancing Birmingham’s build to rent sector, and the promotion of sustainable transport and car-free environments.

The winners of the RTPI West Midlands Awards for Planning Excellence 2019 will be announced at a presentation and ball on Friday 18 October 2019. We look forward to celebrating all Ben’s achievements.
