Newcastle City Council and Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council are consulting on a Joint Call for Sites Update, as part of their preparation for the new Newcastle Gateshead Local Plan. The emerging Local Plan will replace the current joint Core Strategy and Urban Core Plan, which was adopted in 2015 as well as other independent Local Plan documents.

This Call for Sites exercise is an opportunity for landowners and developers to put forward any new development sites, and promote their inclusion in the emerging Local Plan. 

The consultation is only seeking the submission of new sites that have not previously been submitted through earlier Call for Sites since 2022-2023.
