Lambert Smith Hampton is delighted to be advising North Herts Council on the procurement of a Development Partner for the regeneration of the Churchgate Regeneration Zone (CRZ) in the heart of Hitchin town centre. The Council requires a partner to help shape and deliver one of the most significant town centre regeneration projects in Hertfordshire.
The regeneration of the Churchgate Shopping Centre, Hitchin Market and surrounding town centre assets will create a vibrant, sustainable and commercially successful destination that supports the town's long-term growth. The vision includes a reimagined market, development of new homes, enhanced public realm, improved connectivity and a diverse mix of commercial, leisure and community uses. The project will also seek to promote environmental sustainability and climate resilience, helping to create a town centre that is adaptable to future challenges.
The Development Partner will initially undertake a comprehensive feasibility study before progressing, subject to approval, into the delivery phase of the project. An experienced partner will combine masterplanning, commercial, development, placemaking and delivery expertise to bring forward a transformational scheme.
Lambert Smith Hampton has extensive experience advising local authorities and public sector organisations on complex regeneration, development partner procurements and public-private partnerships. We understand the commercial, planning and delivery challenges associated with major town centre regeneration projects and are proud to be supporting the Council in bringing this exciting opportunity to the market.
