We are delighted to announce that the St Ann’s New Neighbourhood was awarded for Best Use of Publicly Owned Land/or Property in the Placemaking categories at the Planning Resource Awards.
Mary-Jane O’Neill, Rob Reeds, Fiona Harte and Lauren Stoves from the London Planning Consultancy team accepted the award alongside clients Hill Group and Peabody on Thursday evening.
This follows the recent approval of the Reserved Matters application on 3 June, which provided a Resolution to Grant full permission to Phases 1b and 2 of the project, following the initial hybrid application being approved in July 2023.
St Ann’s New Neighbourhood will deliver c. 1,000 new homes (including 60% affordable housing) that will transform part of the former St Ann’s Hospital in south Tottenham into a mixed-use, mixed-tenure residential neighbourhood, for enjoyment of both the new and surrounding residents.
The scheme has been recognised for its placemaking benefits, acknowledging the commitment of the whole project team to delivering a development that is an exemplar of brownfield/public owned land.
Rob Reeds, Planning Director at Lambert Smith Hampton said: “The Planning Award for St Ann’s is testament to the hard work and dedication of the LSH team, to successfully navigate the planning system and deliver an exemplar brownfield regeneration Scheme for the benefit of the local community. The high-quality design, mix of non-residential uses in re-used buildings, 60% Affordable Housing and expansive landscaping was rightly commended by the Panel. We look forward to working with Peabody, Hill Group and the rest of the Design Team to secure the final Phase next year”.
We will now continue to work alongside the project team to prepare an application for the final phase of the St Ann’s New Neighbourhood, delivering the principles of placemaking recognised by receipt of this award.
Our London Planning team are involved in a range of projects in London and the South, working alongside public and private sector clients to deliver high-quality, sustainable schemes that contribute to creating a sense of place for local people.
