LSH has made another key appointment to its environmental and social governance (ESG) team. Stephen Clayton joins as an associate director and was previously an energy bureau manager at Landsec.

With a core expertise in planning carbon reduction, Stephen has experience of advising occupiers, landlords and asset managers. His role at LSH will involve engaging with landlords, occupiers and local authorities to support them in their path towards achieving net zero.

Federico Montella, head of ESG and sustainability at LSH, said:

“Though we were already seeing significantly increased demand for environmental and sustainability consultancy, this has been further accelerated by the onset of the current energy crisis. Clients are coming to us for support in reducing their energy consumption and mitigating the impact of their activities and we are rapidly growing our team in response to this demand.

“There is barely a single aspect of real estate consultancy that doesn’t in some way touch the ESG agenda. Stephen’s arrival further strengthens our capabilities and affirms our continued commitment to building a credible centre of excellence for ESG solutions.”

Alongside consultancy services, LSH’s ESG team is also responsible for the design and delivery of internal policy and sustainability targets and challenging the business to set and meet environmental and social targets, as well as expanding its consultancy offer.

Recent commitments from LSH include a pledge to achieve net zero carbon status by 2030 and to ensuring that all business lines provide market leading ESG compliant products and services.
