Hawkins Logistics, a UK based warehouse and distribution company, has taken an additional warehouse at Legal & General’s Fradley Park in Lichfield to meet the demands of their continuing growth plans.

Employing over 100 members of staff out of two existing locations in Rugeley and their existing Fradley Park HQ warehouse, Hawkins operates more than 70 vehicles and has quickly become one of the fastest growing haulage companies in the midlands. The new Fradley Park site totals 102,176 sq ft and provides Hawkins with a high quality fitted warehouse to fully meet their requirements.

Tom Irons, Commercial Director at Hawkins Logistics, commented:

"Due to increased customer demand and the immediate success at our first Fradley site, we made the swift decision to expand our warehousing portfolio even further and reached out to LSH who helped facilitate the smooth transition into our second site at Fradley Park. This gives us the opportunity to support our new customer demand as well as offering increased availability and flexibility to current clients."

The letting to Hawkins was agreed by Lambert Smith Hampton and follows just a week after the previous tenant vacated the building, further emphasising the continued demand for high quality units despite the difficult backdrop of a global pandemic.

Matt Jarvis, Senior Fund Manager, UK Property Fund at LGIM Real Assets, commented:

“The industrial sector has remained incredibly resilient throughout the coronavirus pandemic with occupational demand for well-managed, high quality assets on the rise. Testament to the calibre of warehouse space on offer at Fradley Park, I am delighted that Hawkins Logistics have taken additional space to accommodate its ambitious growth plans.”

Located just off the A38, Fradley Park sits at the heart of the midlands and offers easy access to the region’s sprawling transport network. Comprising more than 300 acres of first-class space for distribution, warehousing and manufacturing, major multinational tenants include DHL, Screwfix, IMI Norgren, Tesco, and the recently announced new £90m fulfilment centre for leading online fashion retailer ASOS.

Matthew Tilt, Director – Industrial & Logistics at Lambert Smith Hampton said:

“This is one of a number of significant lettings of warehouse space announced at Fradley Park and endorses the park's excellent location for the growing demand for logistics space.”

“We do have a 55,856 sq ft unit available at Fradley that we expect to be equally popular amongst occupiers looking for high quality space in an excellent location where a number of household names already occupy.”
