The detached building, which comprises 5,250 sq ft of office space, has been bought from national developer Gladman Developments Ltd by architect and urban design firm Thrive, which plans to occupy the unit. The asking price was £795,000.

Commenting, Gladman’s commercial property manager Romy Silvers said: “The acquisition of the final unit at Portis Fields indicates a growing business confidence in the market, and it also demonstrates the park’s popularity with a diverse range of occupiers; Portis Fields offers a modern business park environment with excellent access to the M5 and wider region and a high quality interior spec, which have made it a highly attractive choice.”

Trevor Wright, Design Director at Thrive Architects (South West) Ltd, added: “We have been looking for new premises to accommodate our growing team of architects and urban designers for some time. Having started the South West division of our business in Portishead just over three years ago, we wanted to remain in the town as it offers the ideal location with easy motorway access, good local facilities and close proximity to Bristol. Our acquisition of Unit 5 at Portis Fields has fulfilled these requirements and provides us with the accommodation we need to expand our business.”

LSH was appointed by developer Gladman Developments Ltd to handle the sale, and acted as joint agent with Cushman & Wakefield.  Warwick Martel acted for the buyer.

Portis Fields was launched in 2007 and provides 16 buildings in a ‘campus-style’ setting.  Park occupiers include Doosan Babcock, Osprey Shipping, Galliford Try and Vertase.
