The site is situated in an area allocated for employment uses and had outline planning permission granted in 1998 for an industrial park (W/97/00903/OUT). Planning permission was renewed for industrial development in 2001 (W/01/01264/OUT). A further time extension was made in 2004 (W/04/01476/FUL). All applications have now lapsed.
