The Green Apple Environment Award was presented to our facilities management (FM) team for outstanding achievements in water conservation at 20 Red Lion Street in London.

At this property, the team and their cleaning contractor Regular Cleaning, introduced the iMop cleaning appliance, which consumes 17 litres less water per day* compared to traditional methods. This, in conjunction with soluCLEAN, a plastic free commercial cleaning product, has seen an environmental impact reduction of more than 75% compared to other conventional cleaning methods.

This project has led to a partnership with global water charity Made Blue, whose mission is to provide access to clean water in countries where it is needed the most. Savings at 20 Red Lion Street saw 3,798 litres of clean water donated to communities in need last year, and the building is committed to donating an additional 13,000 litres of clean water over the next two years.

Tom Bowgett and Green Apple Award

Tom Bowgett, Regional Facilities Manager, who collected the award comments:
“These awards celebrate environmental best practice around the world, and we are proud to have been commended by the Green Apple judges for our efforts at 20 Red Lion Street. It’s a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication to providing sustainable solutions across the properties we manage.”

The Green Apple Awards are run by The Green Organisation – an international, independent, non-profit, non-political environment group that began in 1994 to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world.
