The Bowman Riley Architects-designed development, which will be named Fortis Quay and will include the tallest building in Salford Quays, is the fourth successive scheme in which LSH has secured planning consent for on behalf of Fortis Developments. These developments, which are all currently under construction and will deliver circa. 1,700 residential units, also include Adelphi Wharf Phase 1, 2 & 3, Bridgewater Gate and Bridgewater Place.

Michael O’Brien, Senior Planner at LSH, commented: “This latest consent reflects the burgeoning residential offer in Salford, which benefits from a good supply of former commercial and industrial land with excellent transport links to Manchester city centre, making it an appealing proposition to residential developers.”

In addition to providing advice in respect of development viability, LSH also co-ordinated the preparation and submission of the application for 593 apartments/townhouses, building upon an earlier prior approval consent to convert two existing office buildings to deliver 122 apartments.

Works at Fortis Quay are expected to commence immediately after the signing of a S106 agreement with the first two phases of the development scheduled for completion in 2018.
