We have bolstered our Northern Powerhouse offering with the promotion of Abid Jaffry to Head of Northern Capital Markets and Matthew Scrimshaw to Head of the North region. 

Abid, who has over 15 years experience in the investment arena and was previously responsible for our Capital Markets provision across the North West, will now lead our Capital Markets team right across our five offices in the North of England.  The move marks a full-time return to his investment roots and he will now coordinate transactional activities in each city.  

Speaking of his appointment, Abid said: “I’m really excited about the role. The Northern regions hold so much untapped potential and our unrivalled network of offices means we are able offer the most comprehensive market knowledge and service to our clients.” 

Abid acted as Head of the Manchester office for four years and his efforts are widely attributed to the resurgence and success of our North West business.  During his tenure, he grew the operation to over 150 people and re-focused the business model which included integrating niche retail specialist Tushingham Moore and ES Group, which the firm acquired in 2015.  

He added: "We restructured LSH at a time when it would have been easier to stick with what had worked previously but we didn't.  We needed to reflect the progressive ethos of the company and the way the market had changed over that time.  I am very proud of what we have achieved, doubling the size of the business, but it is now time for a fresh challenge.” 

To further strengthen our commitment to a joined-up approach to the Northern Powerhouse initiative, Matthew Scrimshaw, who currently heads up our Yorkshire and North East business, will now take on the extended role of Head of the North region and will also assume responsibility for the Manchester office. 

Abid will maintain a role in the leadership of the Manchester business working with the North West executive team. 

David Moore, former Senior Partner of Tushingham Moore, will continue in his role as Head of the North West and lead business development in the region, in addition to his role as National Head of Retail.
