We were appointed as national office leasing agents on this £470m city centre regeneration scheme, which will include 55,000 sq m of grade A office space,high end hotels, residential developments, premium shops, restaurants and cafes, leisure destinations, and quality public realm.
38 Carver Street is a key part of the Heart of the City II development, the ambition of the disposal campaign was to identify a partner to refurbish and reposition the 26,000 sq ft legacy office building to provide a vibrant, multi-use space, specifically aimed at appealing to Sheffield’s buoyant SME sector.
- Following a targeted marketing campaign during the summer of 2019, specifically seeking requests for proposals from leading co-working/flexible office/business centre operators, terms were agreed with Cubo, a new-style of serviced office concept which already has sites in Nottingham and Derby.
- The building will feature co-working space, private offices, meeting rooms, printing stations, designated desks or memberships for hot-desking. Table tennis, football tables and games consoles will also be available in the communal areas, and there will be space for yoga and wellness classes, plus free beverages.
- A rooftop bar is also planned for the top floor of the building with views across the city’s skyline, bringing a new, much sought-after dynamic to Sheffield’s night-time economy.
Not only will Cubo offer a workplace that melds the traditional requirements of functionality together with a new focus on the needs, wants and lifestyles of those who occupy it, it will also enable start-ups and small businesses to establish a base in what will become one of the most vibrant and thriving areas of Sheffield city centre.
