Project management of refurbishment works at Parkhouse Interchange

Find out more

Friars House Investments Ltd – a subsidiary of London based Newcombe Estates Company Limited - appointed us to provide contract administration, project management and CDM Services for refurbishment of accommodation at Parkhouse Interchange, Newcastle Under Lyme.

The property was run down with dilapidated, tired offices. Repair works included a new roof to replace the leaking asbestos one. We advised the client that tender prices would be lower than normal, and as such it made sense to maximise works required and include a new roof to replace the leaking asbestos one.

Minimising risk, maximising value

Following our works, the client now has a guaranteed new roof and fully refurbished offices and warehouses, all of which are DDA compliant. We also advised the client of potential tax relief relating to removal of an asbestos roof.

The roof is guaranteed for 15 years workmanship and 25 years materials. Improvements to the building have been made in accordance with current building regulations and include improved insulation and natural light provision, insulation, and disabled access and facilities.

The project was completed below budget. Through continued advice and a multi-service approach with our Industrial & Logistics Agency team, a dated and dilapidated building is now in prime condition.
