Construction and fit-out of Microchip’s HQ in Berkshire

Find out more

Our Office Agents secured the pre-let of new headquarters for Microchip in Winnersh, near Reading.

Our Building Consultants then worked with the international technology company to create a bespoke and highly secure facility, built for current and future business needs.

Bespoke offices planned

Microchip wanted bespoke offices with combined warehouse space, close to its existing premises.

Having agreed a pre-let on 30,000 sq ft at Winnersh Triangle (now IQ Winnersh), we worked with the developer to achieve a building design that met specific short and long term objectives.

Microchip came to us for project management, developer negotiations, quality checks, appointment of contractors and cost management, so that it could focus on its core business.

Progress and quality monitored continuously

We negotiated with the developer, attended project meetings and monitored progress and quality throughout the construction process. The design was reviewed continuously throughout the project, meaning that any amendments could be incorporated; some changes to the base building would have been prohibitive after completion.

Project management delivered more than £500,000 in savings

We then went on to space plan and project manage the £800,000 fit-out. Initially, we reviewed the contractor proposals that had been put forward by the landlord, and presented alternatives. By using different contractors, secured savings in excess of £500,000.

Microchip now operates from bespoke, modern and flexible office and warehouse space, with enhanced security features throughout the site.
