Chobham Manor is a London Olympic legacy site development, delivered under a Joint Venture partnership between London & Quadrant, Taylor Wimpey and the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC). The masterplan includes for 800 homes on the Olympic Park, of which 310 are affordable and which form the basis for ikon’s appointment with L&Q as their Client Representative and Employer’s Agent.
The scheme has been delivered across four phases, the first three of which have included affordable units across Affordable Rent, Shared Ownership and London Living Rent tenure. This is a mixed-use development comprising a number of retail units, a community centre, café and nursery and new public realm landscaping including a rain garden and play areas. During the course of the project there have been a number of complex site works to negotiate which have related to adoption agreements for roads and drainage, ground investigations, services rerouting and remediation of Japanese Knotweed.
The development has been subject to S106 and planning condition approval via the LLDC and has progressed detailed design during the 10 year lifetime in line with updates to Building Regulations and Mayor of London grant funding criteria.
This flagship development has also won a number of architectural awards including RIBA, New London Mayor and Evening Standard as well as for its construction with the NHBC. The homes include a combination of medium rise apartment blocks together with street accessed duplexes and terraced townhouses.
