The well respected and established logistics specialist Lloyd Fraser has taken the strategic decision to acquire a 163,000 sq. ft warehousing facility to mark a new direction for the business.

Lloyd Fraser has invested a substantial seven figure sum into procuring its new site, which is ideally located at the heart of the UK’s ‘golden triangle’ on Magna Park in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.

Richard Meering, Senior Director & National Head of Leasing at LSH comments: “I am delighted that we have concluded the letting of this fully fitted warehouse on Magna Park known as  XDock 163 on behalf of Delin Property to Lloyd Fraser Group 3pl,  one of the UK’s largest privately owned logistics companies. The acquisition is the first of a number of UK warehouse acquisitions they are planning as part of their UK expansion programme.”

The new warehousing facility will augment the 3PL solutions provider’s ability to meet the increasing demand from both existing and new customers – demonstrating its commitment to establishing its presence within the 3PL space.

Offering a full warehousing and fulfilment function, Lloyd Fraser can offer inbound container collection from anywhere in the world, container stuffing and destuffing, as well as intricate picking processes enabling Lloyd Fraser to handle a wide range of products and pallet sizes.

These services will be underpinned by its state-of-the-art warehouse management system Azyra which ultimately helps to optimise inventory management, streamline order fulfilment, enhance warehouse visibility, as well as ensure compliance.

A business that prides itself on its customer-centric and flexible ethos, Lloyd Fraser is able to offer a tailored approach by configuring parts of its new site to deliver bespoke solutions that cater directly to customer needs.

This acquisition is the first in a series of future substantial warehousing investments, which will be made in line with the company’s goal of acquiring 1,500,000 sq. ft of warehousing space within the next year.

Established in 1987 as a transport and logistics provider, Lloyd Fraser has gone from strength to strength from its launch through to the present day, where it now looks to make its mark within the 3PL marketplace – utilising the experience of its strong management team and ever-growing UK network to cement its status as a game changing 3PL provider.

Anthony Finlayson-Green, Group Chief Executive Officer at Lloyd Fraser commented: “This investment is an exciting new chapter in the Lloyd Fraser success story.

“We recognised that if we were to deliver best-in-class 3PL solutions to our customers it was vital that we acquire the right facilities. Magna Park’s strategic location being at the heart of the UK’s ‘golden triangle’ – where it can reach 90% of the UK population within four hours driving time – gave us the perfect fit.

“Since the takeover last year, the business has undergone significant change in order to build on the foundations and value of the Lloyd Fraser brand and use its stellar reputation, along with the expertise of our management team, as a catalyst to create change in the 3PL sector for the better.

“We have also further strengthened our team with the appointment of Craig Welch as Chief Operations Officer of Fashion and 3PL Commercial and this coupled with the acquisition of our new site will act as a springboard to enable the company to achieve further growth within the market, in line with our ambitious plans over the coming year.“
