We have recruited Helen Kirkham as a director in our compulsory purchase team, based in Manchester. Helen joins LSH from Avison Young, where she spent 17 years in their Liverpool office.

Helen has acted for a wide range of public and private sector clients including York Council, Liverpool City Council, Halton Council, Leeds Council, Tata Steel and Fujitsu. She is the latest to join our growing planning, regeneration + infrastructure team, following the recent announcement of Nyear Yaseen re-joining the us to head up our compulsory purchase offering across the south.

This latest appointment comes in response to a growing number of compulsory purchase and infrastructure mandates across the north, including Doncaster City Council and Newark & Sherwood District Council.

Simon Bachelor, national director for infrastructure at LSH said: “The ongoing regeneration agenda and levelling up objective is creating a number of complex land assembly opportunities across the north of England. We have built one of the largest and most experienced CPO teams in the market, as we continue to see growing demand for our services across both the public and private sector.

Helen brings with her a wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge of the north west market. She will help us continue to build on our success and continue to add to our growing pipeline of instructions.”

Dr Steve Norris, national head of planning, regeneration + infrastructure at LSH added: “Helen’s extensive experience, varied skill set and track record of helping unlock investment and regeneration potential across the north of England will further cement our team as market leaders in this sector. I look forward to working with both her and Simon as we continue to act on major development schemes across the country.

We now have over 100 specialists advising both the public and private sectors at all stages of the development and regeneration lifecycle.  Working in partnership with our clients and stakeholders we are delivering economic, environmental, social and cultural value for our clients, communities and places.”
