Lucy McDowell and Vijay Singh, both Graduate Surveyors in our Valuation division, are two of 74 aspiring young professionals – aged 35 and under - that have been shortlisted to be crowned ‘Young Surveyor of the Year’ in their respective sector or specialism.

The RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year Awards recognise and celebrate the most inspirational young surveying professionals in the UK, with Judges looking for outstanding role models who work to the highest standards of professionalism and act as advocates for the profession.

Matthew Scrimshaw, Head of the North region at LSH, commented: "To have two people shortlisted from across the Yorkshire region is an excellent achievement and one which we are really proud of. LSH has a strong cadre of young talent and Lucy and Vijay are both valuable assets to the Yorkshire business and their nominations are testimony to their professionalism and dedication to providing excellent levels of service to our clients. We wish them both the best of luck."

LSH is no stranger to success at the prestigious awards, with Manchester-based Ian Scott winning the ‘Property Agency (Residential & Commercial)’ category in 2017 and Leeds-based James Taylor winning the ‘Valuation’ category in 2016. Katy Brindley, Head of Property Management in Yorkshire, was also shortlisted in 2016.

The winners of each category will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony in November 2018 in London, with the ultimate accolade of RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year 2018 awarded to one of the category winners.
