A finance expert who took a leading role on some of Birmingham’s biggest development schemes has been appointed director at Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH).

James Dair joins LSH's Birmingham office from Birmingham City Council where he was Financial Manager.

He led the financial work on the Grand Central and New Street redevelopment, the multi-million pound Paradise redevelopment schemes, Birmingham Council’s award winning back office rationalisation programme as well as supporting the early thinking around the Interchange and Curzon Street sites for the proposed HS2 project.

He will now join LSH’s Public Sector team, where he will provide advice and support to public bodies to develop innovative and sustainable delivery models which provide greater synergy between the finance and property sector.    

James, a qualified accountant by trade lives in Gnosall, Staffordshire, said having worked in local government finance for 17 years, he was now keen to move into private practice.

“I felt the time was right to extend my professional practice so when the opportunity came to work in Lambert Smith Hampton’s public sector team, I had no hesitation at all in accepting the position,” he said.

“I was impressed with the company’s approach and believe that I will have the opportunity to consolidate my expertise to further develop the dynamic public sector team.”
