Graduate surveyors’ success for Birmingham office

Find out more

Two Surveyors at Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) in Birmingham are looking forward to successful careers in commercial property after becoming members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Tom Parsonage, who works in the Property and Asset Management Team, and Luke Sutton, in Valuation, are now both MRICS qualified after passing the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).

Tom, aged 27, of Worcester, joined LSH in December 2012, and has since managed a portfolio of retail, office and industrial properties across the South East region. He has also assisted with rent reviews and lease renewals for large organisations, as well as undertaken analysis of lease and transfer documents.

Prior to joining LSH, Tom, who has a Business in Property degree from the University of the West of England, worked as a Graduate Surveyor in general practice at Eddisons Chartered Surveyors in Birmingham.

Twenty-five-year-old Luke, from Kinver, joined LSH in January 2013 from Bruton Knowles and specialises in commercial and residential properties. Now a Surveyor in the Valuation Department, he has been involved in a wide range of valuation work and prepares loan security valuation reports for clients in both the private and public sector.

He said: “Working with such a busy and dynamic team means I’ve been able to undertake a wide variety of projects, which has helped me to expand my skills in a relatively short time. I’m looking forward to continuing my career in commercial property.”

Tom, who also spent six months in LSH’s valuation team, added: “I’m pleased to have passed the APC so I can build on the experience I have already gained while working at LSH.”

Adam Ramshaw, Head of Office at LSH in Birmingham, said: “It’s always gratifying to see hard work paying off. Luke and Tom have already proven themselves to be excellent surveyors and they will only improve as they gain more experience here.”
