We have been working with the University and architects BDP on potential development options, which include a proposal to build a 37-storey tower to include a conference centre, 205 apartments and a 120-bed four or five star hotel. Were it to go ahead, the development would supersede the 32-storey St Paul’s Tower to become Sheffield’s tallest building.

Adrian Lunn, Head of LSH’s Sheffield office, commented: “There are very few strategic development sites available in Sheffield city centre so this presents an unparalleled opportunity for local, national and international investors, developers and occupiers alike.

“We have already received considerable interest and look forward to working with Sheffield Hallam University, BDP and the selected party to deliver a scheme that will transform this location and further enhance the city’s commercial offer.”

Daniel Ladbury, Director of Estates at Sheffield Hallam, said: “The University plays a vital role as one of the major employers and capital investors in the region and it's exciting to be able to share our ambitious future plans for our estate and the wider Sheffield City Region.

"The proposition has been developed with Sheffield City Council's Core Strategy in mind: the site lies within the Sheffield Urban Area which encourages and promotes major development, vibrant and engaging street scenes."
