When the BBC was looking to dispose of its iconic White City Television Centre in London, we could have taken the obvious approach and simply sold the site for its book valuation. Instead, we recommended the broadcaster retained a presence at the site and created a vision for a mixed use media, leisure and residential village to sit at the heart of the Greater London Authority’s White City Opportunity Area master-plan.
Our sale process generated 240 expressions of interest and the site was sold for £200 million - nearly seven times more than the original book valuation. Here’s how the sale was reported
